CP BODE OJAJUNI EXTENDS STRATEGIC FAMILIARIZATION TOUR TO OTA AREA COMMAND, STRENGTHENS STAKEHOLDER PARTNERSHIPS, ASSESSES INDUSTRIAL SECURITY, ADVOCATES PROACTIVE POLICING
CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, has continued his strategic statewide familiarization tour with a working visit to Ota Area Command, reaffirming the Command's commitment to intelligence-led policing, community partnership, and the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
The visit featured engagements with traditional rulers, local government authorities, sister security agencies, community leaders, industrial establishments, and police personnel, aimed at strengthening collaboration, enhancing operational effectiveness, and sustaining peace and security across the axis.
Accompanied by members of the Command Management Team, the Commissioner commenced the tour with a visit to the palace of the Olota of Ota, His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Abdul Kabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, Ph.D., MCIPR, MPRII, FHEA, Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode, where he was warmly received alongside other revered traditional rulers, including the Onitele of Itele, the Onitetiku of Itekun, the Ajana of Ota, the Onibudo of Ibudo-Ota, and members of the Chiefs-in-Council.
CP Ojajuni stated that the visit was to pay royal homage to His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Abdul Kabir Adeyemi Obalanlege and appreciate the unwavering support the traditional institution has consistently extended to the Nigeria Police Force.
He noted that the cordial relationship between the palace and the Police has contributed significantly to the relative peace and security enjoyed within Ota, while reaffirming the Command's resolve to deepen collaboration with traditional institutions in advancing community policing.
In his remarks, His Royal Majesty, Oba Prof. Abdul Kabir Adeyemi Obalanlege commended the Commissioner for the remarkable operational successes recorded since assuming office, particularly the impact of Operation Kosaye, describing the initiative as a major boost to security across Ogun State.
The monarch expressed confidence in the professionalism and responsiveness of police personnel serving within the area and pledged the continued support of the traditional institution towards sustaining peace and public order.
The Commissioner thereafter proceeded to the Ota Area Command Headquarters, where he was received by the Area Commander, ACP Shola Oladele, officers and men of the Command.
Present at the stakeholders' engagement were the Executive Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Hon. Lawal Adewale Wasiu, FCA; the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo; the State Chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Comrade Abdullah Lawal; eminent traditional rulers; representatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Department of State Services (DSS), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), So-Safe Corps, Forest Guards, religious leaders, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders.
Addressing the gathering, CP Ojajuni described Ota as one of Ogun State's foremost industrial and commercial hubs with unique security dynamics that demand sustained collaboration among all stakeholders.
He emphasized that policing remains a collective responsibility and called for stronger intelligence sharing, inter-agency cooperation, and active community participation in preventing and combating crime.
The Commissioner highlighted the successes already recorded under Operation Kosaye, assuring stakeholders that the initiative remains a sustained, intelligence-led operation designed to strengthen security across the Lagos-Ogun corridor and deny criminal elements the opportunity to thrive.
CP Ojajuni also introduced stakeholders to the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) following a sensitization by the State Coordinator, ASP Oluborode Opeyemi.
He explained that the initiative adopts a preventive, non-kinetic approach to addressing cultism, drug abuse, youth violence, and other social vices through advocacy, mentorship, strategic partnerships, and community engagement.
The Commissioner further introduced stakeholders to Gateway Shield, the Ogun State Police Command's integrated digital security platform developed to strengthen community policing through technology-driven public participation.
He explained that the platform enables residents to report crimes in real time, submit anonymous intelligence, activate geolocated distress alerts, lodge complaints, and engage directly with the Police in both English and Yoruba.

He emphasized that timely information from members of the public remains indispensable to effective policing and assured stakeholders that every credible report received through the platform would be treated with utmost professionalism, confidentiality, and swift operational response.
As part of efforts to strengthen the security of critical national assets and infrastructure, the Commissioner visited Sona Group of Industries, where he was received by the Chairman, Mr. A.K. Mirchandani, alongside members of the executive management team.
During the visit, he assessed the company's security architecture, safety measures, emergency preparedness, and existing collaboration with law enforcement.
He commended the organisation for its contribution to employment generation and socio-economic development, noting that gainful employment remains a critical factor in reducing crime.
He also applauded the company's Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and encouraged sustained partnership in enhancing industrial and community security.
Responding, Mr. A.K. Mirchandani appreciated the Commissioner's visit and commended the Ogun State Police Command for its professionalism, responsiveness, and commitment to safeguarding lives, property, and investments within the industrial corridor.
He reaffirmed the company's continued support for the Nigeria Police Force.
The Commissioner also visited The Papilon Company Limited and Geepee Company Limited, where he conducted similar assessments of their security systems, safety protocols, emergency response capabilities, and internal security architecture.
He encouraged both organisations to sustain investments in security infrastructure, strengthen information sharing with law enforcement, and align aspects of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives with community safety and crime prevention.
The managements of both companies welcomed the initiative and pledged their continued partnership with the Ogun State Police Command in promoting a secure and business-friendly environment.
