SECURITY OPERATiVES INTELLIGENCE-LED RAID IN EFON YIELDS FIREARM RECOVERY, AS SUSPECTED CULTIST IS ARRESTED



The Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that, acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit, in collaboration with personnel of the Amotekun Corps, carried out a coordinated operation in the Ita Baale area of Ogbori, Efon.

During the operation, one Salami Obisesan, a 21-year-old male, was apprehended. A cut-to-size locally made firearm was recovered from his possession.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect obtained the firearm from a friend who is currently serving a prison sentence at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre. 
The suspect also stated that he is a member of the Neo Black Movement, also known as Black Axe.

The suspect is currently in police custody while further investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the possession of the firearm and to identify other individuals who may be connected to the case.

The recovered firearm has been taken into custody as an exhibit.
The Command reiterates its commitment to combating cultism, illegal possession of firearms, and other criminal activities. 

The Command also appeals to members of the public to continue supporting the Police and other security agencies by volunteering timely, credible, and actionable information that can aid crime prevention, detection, and the apprehension of criminal elements. Such cooperation remains vital to maintaining peace, public safety, and security across our communities.
