DIG ADEGOKE MUSTAPHA FAYOADE CONDUCTS STRATEGIC WORKING VISIT TO OGUN STATE; DEEPENS SECURITY COLLABORATION THROUGH ENGAGEMENTS WITH GOVERNMENT, TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS, STAKEHOLDERS, SECURITY AGENCIES, AND POLICE OFFICERS, AS WELL AS A VISIT TO THE POLICE COLLEGE OF INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGY




As part of the Nigeria Police Force's ongoing efforts to strengthen internal security, enhance community policing, and promote technology-driven law enforcement across the South-West geopolitical zone, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police supervising the South-West Geopolitical Zone and Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), DIG Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, psc, mnim, mni, undertook a strategic working visit to Ogun State on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM. 
The visit featured high-level engagements with the Ogun State Government, traditional institutions, critical stakeholders, sister security agencies, police officers, and the Police College of Information and Technology, reinforcing the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to collaborative, intelligence-led, and technology-driven policing.
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police supervising the South-West Geopolitical Zone and Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), DIG Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, psc, mnim, mni, during the week undertook a strategic working visit to Ogun State. 
The visit, undertaken on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, was aimed at strengthening community policing, enhancing operational effectiveness, reinforcing inter-agency collaboration, and advancing technology-driven policing across the South-West geopolitical zone.
The Deputy Inspector-General was accompanied on the visit by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Jimoh Moshood, psc. 
They were received at the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, alongside members of the Command Management Team.
The visit commenced with an interactive stakeholders' engagement at the POWA Hall, led by the Deputy Inspector-General and attended by the representative of His Royal Majesty, Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola, CFR, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, other traditional rulers, community and religious leaders, labour unions, transport unions, professional associations, youth organisations, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), and representatives of sister security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), the Ogun State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps), the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps), and the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE).
Addressing the gathering, DIG Fayoade described security as a collective responsibility and emphasised the need for stronger collaboration among government, traditional institutions, security agencies, stakeholders, and members of the public. 
He urged community leaders to continue supporting the Police with timely and credible information while encouraging Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to sustain regular engagements with their communities to strengthen grassroots policing.
The Deputy Inspector-General thereafter held a strategic interactive session with officers and men of the Ogun State Police Command, where he commended their dedication, professionalism, and operational achievements. 
He charged personnel to remain disciplined, accountable, and committed to the highest standards of integrity, respect for human rights, and quality service delivery, while maintaining zero tolerance for corruption and other forms of misconduct.

As part of the working visit, DIG Fayoade paid a courtesy visit to the Ogun State Government, where they were received by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, representing the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, CON. 

The Deputy Inspector-General conveyed the goodwill of the Inspector-General of Police and appreciated the State Government's continued support for the Nigeria Police Force. 

The State Government reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining its partnership with the Ogun State Police Command in promoting peace and public safety.

The Deputy Inspector-General also paid a courtesy visit to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, CFR, where he commended the traditional institution for its unwavering support for security initiatives. 

He reaffirmed the importance of traditional institutions in intelligence gathering, conflict resolution, and strengthening community policing.

In his capacity as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of ICT, DIG Fayoade concluded the visit with an interactive session with the management, instructors, and course participants at the Police College of Information and Technology, Kobape, Abeokuta. 

He applauded the institution's role in building the technological capacity of police personnel and encouraged continuous innovation and professionalism in advancing the Nigeria Police Force's digital transformation agenda.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, expressed profound appreciation to the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG Fayoade Mustapha Adegoke, psc, mnim, mni, and the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Jimoh Moshood, psc, for the impactful working visit, strategic guidance, and unwavering commitment to strengthening policing and public safety in Ogun State. 

He assured them that the Ogun State Police Command would continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, integrity, accountability, and respect for human rights while deepening collaboration with government, traditional institutions, sister security agencies, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders in safeguarding lives and property across the State.

The Ogun State Police Command reiterates its unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, promoting intelligence-led and technology-driven policing, and strengthening community partnership in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police. 

The Command therefore urges members of the public to continue supporting the Police with timely, credible, and actionable information, as security remains a shared responsibility.
