AMOTEKUN ARREST SUSPECT IN POSSESSION OF A LOCALLY-MADE GUN

Operatives of the Ogun State Security Network Agency & Amotekun Corps on 20th June, 2026 at around 12 a.m.  apprehended a 25-year old man with a locally-made pistol in Ijebu-Ode area.

The suspect, Olaniyi Ademola Abbati, who claims to be a native of Ijebu-Ode and is an aluminium fabricator, attempted to escape on sighting the operatives, but was eventually arrested around Oke-Aje Market.

A search was thereafter conducted at his residence, where it was discovered that he was the only one occupying the top floor of the building, while the ground floor was occupied mainly by people of Hausa extraction.
No incriminating items were found in the course of the search, but plans are already underway to transfer the case to Igbeba Area Command of the Nigeria Police for further investigations and possible prosecution.
