BREAKING:NO MORE TRANSFERS! IGP Disu Drops the Hammer: "No Uniform is a Shield from Justice"The era of "hiding" trigger-happy officers behind internal queries and secret transfers is officially OVER.

Following the tragic shooting in Effurun, Delta State, the Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has sent a shockwave through the Force.

In a move that many are calling the boldest reform in NPF history, the IGP has declared a "Zero Tolerance" policy that finally puts the lives of citizens above the "esprit de corps" of the badge.
⚖️ "Dismissal, Not Redeployment"
For decades, the standard response to police brutality was a "query" or a transfer to another state. IGP Disu has officially trashed that playbook. Speaking with raw authority, the IGP vowed:
"Any officer who misuses his weapon, who kills a citizen without lawful justification, will be dismissed and prosecuted. Not transferred. Not queried. Not redeployed."
This isn't just a warning; it’s a death knell for the "accidental discharge" excuse. By arresting and dismissing ASP Nuhu Usman within 72 hours of the Effurun incident, Disu has proven that under his watch, justice will move at the speed of thought.

The New Rules of Engagement
The IGP was crystal clear: A uniform is a responsibility, not a permit to terrorize.
He outlined a strict crackdown on the "Three Evils" of the Force:

Extortion:
No more "settlement" on the road.
Alcohol & Drugs: Reporting for duty under the influence now carries an automatic dismissal.

Reckless Firearms Use:
Force Order 237 is back—firearms are a last resort, not a first response.
"No badge is a license to kill.
No uniform is a shield from justice," Disu added, sending a clear message that the law is supreme.

Why This is a Game Changer
Nigerians are used to promises, but we aren't used to action. By bypassing the usual bureaucracy and handing over "trigger-happy" officers directly to criminal prosecution, IGP Disu is doing three things:

Restoring Public Trust:
Showing that the police can police themselves.

Preventing Riots:
Giving the people justice before they have to take to the streets.
Ending Impunity:
Making every officer know that their career—and their freedom—is on the line every time they unholster a weapon.
🗣️ The Verdict:
Is the NPF Finally Changing?
The Effurun shooting was a tragedy, but the IGP's response is a beacon of hope.

For the first time in a long time, the Nigerian Police Force is acting like a service, not a regime.
But the question remains:

Can one man change the entire Force,or will the "bad eggs" fight back?
