OGITECH HOSTS MAIDEN REGISTRY WORKSHOP TO BOOST ADMINISTRATIVE EFFICIENCY
Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa (OGITECH) recently hosted the maiden edition of its Registry Workshop, themed "Contemporary Higher Education Registry: The Imperatives of Reskilling and Upskilling". The event, held from March 31 to April 3, 2026, brought together registry staff from various higher institutions in Nigeria.
The convener, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, described the workshop as a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening the administrative backbone of higher institutions.
She emphasized the need for continuous professional development, citing the evolving landscape of higher education driven by technology, policy changes, and stakeholder expectations.
OGITECH Governing Council Chairman, Chief Ayotunde Odulaja, commended Mrs. Johnson and Rector Dr. Abiodun Oluseye for their efforts in driving the institute's growth.
Dr. Oluseye stressed that a weak registry would hinder administrative coordination and service delivery, emphasizing the need for registrars to update their knowledge and skills.
The workshop featured insightful sessions by experts, including Dr. Omojola Awosusi, former Registrar of Ekiti State University.
Awards of excellence were presented to distinguished personalities, including Pastor (Mrs.) Funmilayo Bolanle Adeleke, Engr Olatunji Akinosi, and Hon Yusuf Kamorudeen Olawale, for their contributions to education development.
