The executive chairman of Oto Awori LCDA Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun has been honored with a Media Award for his humanity development, Yearning to grassroots aspirations and exemplary performance in office.
This is in demonstrating his commitment to empowering the community, women, youths and advancing human capacity development.
The Chairman, Oto Awori LCDA Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun,has facilitated the building of a new state of the art legislative building for the use of the councilors and supervisors of Oto Awori LCDA where they will be making bye-laws for the growth of the LCDA, provision of security patrol vans to different security outfits,One storey building blocks of classrooms at Ilemba Awori Primary School, Employment for residents of Oto Awori LCDA,Lagos State
Speaking with journalist after the presentation of the award,the chairman said a lot of the completed projects have been earmarked for commissioning to mark his 100 days in office.
we are changing the narratives of the people of Oto Awori LCDA by ensuring they witnessed developmental projects and programmes and that's what we have been displaying since we were inaugurated in office in July 2025.
Speaking further,the chairman said,we will also be distributing a lot of educational materials to schools,pupils and students.
we also have the spelling bee competition that we organised, where the winner will be carting home the sum of 1 million naira and also will be privileged to be a One day chairman of the LCDA, the runner up will also be picking up the sum of 500,000 naira,so as to encourage them to do more.
Ajewanwa primary school has been renovated and will be commissioned during our 100 days in office celebration.
We are also commissioning 3 roads, 800 metres road at Jesuwame Igbonla with drainages and Solar street lights,200 metres road at Moshalashi Baale Street Shibiri,250 metres road across the water at Ese Ofin Ward A,we also constructed a jetty there for the use of our people there because we discovered that the people there are car owners,and they deserve a better road infrastructure too.
We will also be commissioning a block of modern toilets at our Shibiri Area office, ICT center at Ijanikin for the use of our youths for skills and empowerment.
We are also making our primary health centers PHC conducive for use of the people by installing Solar electricity system there, for them not to depend on public power supply again,we have also installed Solar electric system at Ijanikin Police station for their use and for their convenience.
The aged too are also beneficiaries of our projects,we are carrying out medical check ups on them and also giving them drugs, palliatives and food items so that they can be encouraged and see themselves as still been remembered in the scheme of things.
We are empowering 100 women with 250,000 naira each to support their businesses so that they can grow,I have also instructed the women to establish a cooperative society organization and I will be supporting them with the sum of 5 million naira to kickstart the group.
Concluding,he said this is just a tip of the iceberg,that by 2026, the people of Oto Awori LCDA will witness more massive projects.
