KEBBI POLICE ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTS FOR RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY IN BIRNIN KEBBI.*EFFORTS BEING INTENSIFIED TO TRACK DOWN THE PRINCIPAL SUSPECT. *
On the 11th September, 2025 at about 1440hrs, one Architect Usman Wasagu m of Kawara area, Birnin Kebbi, reported at the Divisional police headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, that on the 9th September, 2025 at 0200hrs, unknown person(s), broke his store located at behind Sajo school of Nursing Science, Birnin Kebbi, and stole his seven (7) power Tiller machines worth three million one hundred and fifty thousand Naira (#3,150,000:00).
Following a credible lead, a team of Policemen attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, swiftly swung into action and succeeded in arresting one Hamidu Bagudu m aged 52yrs of Tudun wada area and Abdullahi Aliyu m aged 35yrs of Nasarawa area, all in Birnin Kebbi town in connection with the case.
During preliminary investigation, they confessed to have received the stolen items from one Usman Inyamu m of Tudun wada area, Birnin Kebbi, who is still at large. They alleged further that the said Usman sold the stolen items to Abdullahi Aliyu at the sum of One Million Eight Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira (#1,840, 000:00), out of which the proceeds of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (#250,000;00) have been recovered as exhibits.
Consequently, the Police have also succeeded in recovering all the seven (7) stolen Tiller machines from the suspects.
In view of the above recorded achievement, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani had commended the professionalism and prompt response exhibited by the DPO Birnin Kebbi and his men. He reiterated the Command's determination to rid Kebbi State of all forms of violent crimes.
The CP directed the DPO Birnin Kebbi to immediately transfer the case to the State Criminal investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
CP Bello M Sani equally emphasized that with accurate and timely information from members of the public, the Command will be determined in making Kebbi State unhabitable for criminal elements.
