OGUN FIRST LADY RECEIVED OGITECH HONOURARY FELLOWSHIP AWARD 

The wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun, on Wednesday, 26th February, 2025, was admitted into the Honourary Fellowship of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa.

Mrs. Abiodun, who has contributed immensely to the educational development, women empowerment and the wellbeing of children in and out of Ogun State, was honoured by the Management of OGITECH at the Polytechnic's 6th combined convocation ceremony on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, commended OGITECH for its pivotal role in nurturing a skilled workforce that drives industrial growth and economic development in Nigeria.

As part of his administration’s commitment to fostering educational excellence, the Governor awarded a cash award of ₦2 million each to the three overall best graduating students of the Polytechnic representing each of the three sets at the Higher National Diploma level. He reiterated his dedication to providing high-quality education that meets global standards, emphasizing OGITECH’s significance as a center for academic and technological advancement.

Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, delivering the acceptance speech on behalf of other awardees, expressed gratitude to the Management of OGITECH for their dedication to nurturing future innovators and leaders. She regarded the award as a charge to enable her and other awardees to do more for the society.

Other awardees include the Honourable Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Dr. Bosun Tijani, Mrs. Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo, Chief Ibrahim Egungboun Dende also know as IBD.

The Chairman of the Governing Council, represented by Evangelist Kehinde Akinsoji acknowledged Governor Abiodun’s unwavering support in enhancing the institution’s achievements. He urged the graduates to uphold the values instilled in them and to contribute meaningfully to society.

The Rector of OGITECH, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, highlighted the institution’s rapid growth and accreditation across all programs, reaffirming its status as a leading technical hub in Nigeria. With 9,320 graduates, 178 distinctions and..... upper credit from various disciplines, OGITECH continues to equip students with both academic knowledge and practical skills essential for global competitiveness.

The Convocation lecture titled "Technological Education and the Realities of Nigerian Industrial Advancement" was delivered by Prof. Rahmon Adisa Bello, who explored the ongoing global industrial revolution and its implications for Nigeria. He stressed the importance of equipping students with relevant technological skills to ensure they thrive in an increasingly digital world.

In his valedictory speech, Ismail Afeez Olamilekan, the overall best graduating student for 2023/2024 academic sessions expressed gratitude for OGITECH’s impact on his personal and academic growth. He encouraged his fellow graduates to remain resilient and focused as they embark on their careers.

The Convocation marked yet another landmark in OGITECH’s journey, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and national development.
