FALSE SECURITY ALERT IN IFO: POLICE CONFIRM ROAD WORKERS, DISPEL CRIMINALS RUMOUR

The Ogun State Police Command has debunked a security scare in Ifo following the circulation of information alleging that a bus conveying suspected criminals was sighted along the Ibogun Road axis. Acting on intelligence received on June 3, 2026, police surveillance and anti-robbery teams swiftly responded to the area and discovered that the bus, which had been intercepted by some youths, was conveying 21 labourers engaged by a construction company handling the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Ifo–Ibogun Road. OGUN POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS ANOTHER SUSPECT OVER FALSE SECURITY ALERT AND FAKE NEWS, WARNS AGAINST SPREAD OF MISINFORMATION

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Mr. Johnson Elleh for producing and circulating a misleading video falsely alleging kidnapping and banditry activities along the Owode-Idiroko axis of Ogun State. Upon receipt of the viral video, the Command immediately subjected its contents to scrutiny and commenced a swift investigation to verify the claims contained therein.  Findings revealed that the video was false, misleading, and deliberately designed to create fear, panic, and anxiety among members of the public.  Extensive investigation and verification further established that there was no kidnapping or banditry incident as portrayed in the video within the Owode-Idiroko axis or its environs. OGUN STATE AMOTEKUN CORPS COMMENCES 2026 RECRUITMENT SCREENING EXERCISE

The Ogun State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps is currently conducting its Screening Exercise for eligible applicants from across the State seeking gainful employment with the  Agency. Seasoned and experienced personnel from the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, Department of State Services and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, respectively, have been engaged by the Corps to serve as Consultants at the Exercise with a view to engendering transparency, fairness, as well as ensuring that only the best and most qualified applicants are ultimately recruited into the Ogun State Amotekun Corps fold. SECURITY OPERATiVES INTELLIGENCE-LED RAID IN EFON YIELDS FIREARM RECOVERY, AS SUSPECTED CULTIST IS ARRESTED

The Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that, acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit, in collaboration with personnel of the Amotekun Corps, carried out a coordinated operation in the Ita Baale area of Ogbori, Efon. During the operation, one Salami Obisesan, a 21-year-old male, was apprehended. A cut-to-size locally made firearm was recovered from his possession. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect obtained the firearm from a friend who is currently serving a prison sentence at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.  The suspect also stated that he is a member of the Neo Black Movement, also known as Black Axe. The suspect is currently in police custody while further investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the possession of the firearm and to identify other individuals who may be connected to the case.
